ENGAGEMENT

TEAMS

Our Core Engagement Action Teams help to inform, engage and educate chapter and community members and run our chapter through teams focused on communications, events, membership engagement, finance and operations.

COMMUNICATIONS TEAM

Drives awareness throughout the Bay Area community about what we do, how we do it, and opportunities available for volunteers to help. We do this through educational content and by highlighting advocacy work done by Bay Area Climate Leaders through our website, newsletters and social media outreach. The Communications team is currently looking for members who would like to volunteer on our subcommittees.

  • The Newsletter Team gathers content from chapter members and connects the CRBA community to a wealth of climate information wrapped in designed emails for easy consumption and engagement. Our climate focused content contains details of the many events, news, and opportunities within our chapter and out in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We promote the work of our various teams and partnering organizations to educate and inspire our members to make a difference in the fight against climate change. Contact.

  • The CRBA Podcast Team produces and promotes a monthly 15-minute episode of the Everyday Climate Champions Podcast. The Podcast features inspiring conversations with our San Francisco Bay Area neighbors, as they act on home, work, school, community, or policy levels to put real climate solutions into action. Both educational and inspirational, each 15-minute episode supports everyone, everywhere, in becoming a climate champion. We provide local examples, resources, and encouragement – as our society shifts to climate-friendly living. We aim to ensure that all voices are heard, including those of people traditionally excluded from the climate conversation. Contact.

  • The Social Media team generates and publishes content across Climate Reality Bay Area’s official social media accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. Our goal is to coordinate our content calendar to engage Bay Area residents to push for systemic climate action in our communities. We accomplish this through core content pillars designed to educate, recruit, promote chapter events, push calls to action, and provide community spotlights central to our mission.

  • The CRBA website’s mission is to drive climate action by providing CRBA members access and up-to-date information on the ways they can get involved with their local communities and engage with other members in efforts to educate, inform, and enact change.

  • The chapter’s blog highlights articles from chapter members on recent wins, policy action, and chapter updates. Contact.

EVENTS TEAM

Our chapter members are the engine behind all of our chapter events. The Events Team helps our members organize, run, and manage events hosted by the Climate Reality Project Bay Area Chapter.

If you’re interested in organizing an event of your own, just submit a request to the Events and Programming Team. Everyone is encouraged to curate events.

FINANCE & FUNDRAISING

Our chapter treasurer and fundraising team help ensure that we budget responsibility and have adequate funding to support our mission and maximize our impact on climate progress. Our funding comes 100% from voluntary (tax-deductible) donations from our generous community members, and we conduct occasional fundraising campaigns as needed to ensure longevity and robustness of our programs.
