You can gain an insider perspective on home electrification so you can speak to the practical considerations that people face in their efforts to decarbonize their homes.

The Climate Reality Bay Area (CRBA) community welcomed Cooper Marcus of QuitCarbon, who shared practical insights from his experience helping homeowners across California electrify their homes.

QuitCarbon simplifies the complexities of home energy retrofits for both residents and contractors.

This presentation built on the presentation tools and conversation guidance shared in the CRBA Acts to Action workshop in June.

Organized and moderated by CRBA Alameda Squad co-leader Cate Calson this was a rare opportunity to learn first-hand how to address concerns that come up in conversations about home decarbonization, as well as gain insights into how we can progress along our own path toward electrifying our lives.

Cooper Marcus is "Chief Quitter" at QuitCarbon, an organization that creates free roadmaps for homeowners to electrify their homes and quit carbon! Cooper believes that moving away from fossil fuels presents an opportunity to respond to the climate crisis while improving the quality of life for homeowners, renters, and the small businesses that help maintain their homes. He has led high-impact projects and products at high-growth startups and large enterprises. Cooper spent 2.5 years helping PG&E develop an industry-leading machine learning model about wildfire risk that is used to prioritize $1B of annual spending on risk reduction. Cooper holds a BA in Environmental Studies with a focus on Urban Planning, from UC Santa Cruz, where he received college honors, highest honors in the major, Dean’s Award, and Chancellor’s Award. He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was awarded Top Student in Technology and E-Commerce.
